Footprints of Eternity: Ramayana Reimagined

Angelika Sriram (www.anjalisriram.de) was born in Germany in the fifties and sees herself as a citizen of the world. She graduated from the University of Music and Drama, Stuttgart, and performed in theatres in Germany, London and San Francisco. As an idealist, she visualises a fenceless world and her search for new forms to express herself knows no limits. She studied in Kalakshetra, as well as with the Dhananyans and Muthuswami Pillai in Chennai (Madras). She was celebrated as a Bharatanatyam dancer. The Indian ambassador to Germany who attended her performance in Delhi remarked, 'Many foreigners have stolen something from India, but to this woman we gladly give.'

She has written three novels and four non-fiction books in German. In 2023, her first book in English, written together with R. Sriram, Natya Yoga - Mapping the Emotions, was published by Motilal Banarsidass in Delhi.

Currently, she and her husband, a well-known yoga teacher, divide their time between Germany, the UK and their nature project, BASE (www.basekodai.org), in South India.
