Adhyaya 6 of the Bhagavad Gita is called the Yoga of Meditation (Dhyan Yoga).

What is Yoga? What is Meditation?

These two words, Yoga and Meditation, have become universal.

They are commonly used and well-known everywhere in the world by all those who are interested in spirituality, spiritual growth, and self-enquiry. What is the practice of Yoga and Meditation according to Krishna and Osho?

The knowledge that is gathered and presented to the public in regard to Yoga and Meditation is confined to techniques that pertain to the outer dimension, such as practicing body postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama), reciting mantras, and sitting cross-legged. These techniques are certainly needed because they are the foundation from which a deeper inner search can begin.

There are many Yoga techniques and different methods to deepen the inner search and finally attain a state of Meditation, which Krishna refers to as 'unceasing contemplation of the divine'. Osho expounds on this. He says that all Yoga techniques begin in the outer dimension and end up in the inner dimension. Yoga is the process, and unceasing contemplation of the divine, that is to say, meditation, is the final destination, whereby the seeker enters into the inner dimension, into the inner cave of the heart, where he finally merges with the divine, dwells in the divine, and experiences the ultimate bliss.
