Daivagya Vallabha

Daivagya Vallabha is a masterwork on Horary Astrology (Prasna Shastra) by the legendary Varahamihira, the renowned scholar of the 6th century CE. Unlike works that require a birth chart, this text provides a framework for answering questions based on the moment they are asked. It enables the astrologer to address pressing queries regarding marriage, lost articles, travel, health, enemies, and other uncertainties.Divided into 15 chapters containing about 244 verses, the book covers the procedures for putting a query, auspicious and inauspicious matters, gain and loss, travels, recovery from illness, and the deciphering of objects held in a querist's mind. Although references to it appear in works like Prasna Marga and Prasna Siromani, the text is considered a rare classic that fell into disuse despite its authenticity. Its authorship has been debated, with opening verses mentioning Sripati, while later verses attribute it to Varahamihira, who is understood to have written it as an early work. It remains an essential reading for serious students and practitioners of Prasna
