In 1959, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi founded the Spiritual Regeneration Movement to enable everyone to experience God through the practice of Transcendental Meditation. Maharishi appointed Charles Lutes as the president of this organization.
Charlie was a man of God who spoke passionately about the Divine. He described Transcendental Meditation as the highest teaching because, through the continued practice of this technique, one is able to infuse Being (God) into the mind and body and thereby become united with God.
Charlie often stated that human beings are spiritual beings with a spiritual destiny. Through his own spiritual development, he demonstrated the effectiveness of the Transcendental Meditation technique as a means of awakening to that destiny.
Charlie was a living example of what he taught. He embodied the truths he spoke of and was a spiritual master in his own right.
The 108 lectures in this book were selected from more than one thousand inspirational talks that Charlie delivered over a period of more than twenty years, spanning the 1970s through the 1990s.
Although these lectures were originally written for and presented to practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation technique, the wisdom they contain expresses universal truths with broad and timeless appeal. As such, they serve as an inspiration to all seekers of truth, regardless of the spiritual path they follow. Indeed, this book could aptly have been titled A Handbook for God-Realization, for it contains virtually everything one needs to know on the journey toward realizing God.
On December 7, 2001, Charlie departed from this earthly plane. He left behind an extended family of thousands of friends who loved and admired him. A spiritual genius and a giant among men, Charlie is deeply missed by all who knew him.
